Dr. Tolga Kurtoglu,
Chief Technology Officer, Lenovo:

As Corporate CTO, SVP, Lenovo Technology Committee Vice-Chair, and Lenovo Executive Committee member, Dr. Tolga Kurtoglu leads Lenovo's corporate technology strategy and R&D planning & governance. Additionally, he leads Lenovo Research with focuses on AI, computing for smart devices and infrastructure, wireless communications, metaverse and robotics.

Dr. Kurtoglu is a seasoned technology leader with deep expertise in business and innovation strategy. Prior to joining Lenovo in July 2024, he served in various roles as a chief executive & chief technology officer in leading organizations focusing on technology strategy, corporate innovation and incubation, and new business creation.

Dr. Kurtoglu is the former Chief Technology Officer of HP, Inc. where he led HP Labs, one of the world’s most preeminent and seasoned industrial research laboratories. At HP, he developed and implemented a companywide technology strategy and future technology roadmaps, while managing a portfolio of innovation investments and incubations in strategic high-growth markets.

Prior to HP, Dr. Kurtoglu was the Chief Executive Officer of Palo Alto Research Center (PARC - formerly known as Xerox PARC), where he led the transformation of the renowned scientific research organization into a world-class open innovation business helping an ecosystem of clients navigate the complex, everchanging world of science and technology.

Prior to PARC, he was the Head of Global Research at Xerox, where he oversaw the company’s research centers and distributed advanced technology and engineering teams. Dr. Kurtoglu’s early career also includes roles as a research scientist at NASA Ames Research Center, and a mechanical design engineer and group lead at Dell.

Dr. Kurtoglu has numerous patents and publications in the fields of automation and machine intelligence, fault tolerant system design, and 3D/digital manufacturing. He brings over two decades of tech industry experience. During this tenure, he oversaw the transition of more than 40 innovations to the market through various commercialization strategies, including new product introductions, spin-offs, and partnerships with major corporations.

Dr. Kurtoglu holds a MSc in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon; and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, from the Univ. of Texas-Austin, and resides in Silicon Valley, California, USA.
